Camille Theriaque, Director of the Community Responders for Equity, Saety, and Service (CRESS)

Ms. Camille Theriaque, LCSW will talk about her personal journey to become the director of the Community Responders for Equity, Safety and Service (CRESS) in Amherst.  CRESS is an unarmed community safety and alternative policing force that was born from the values of anti-racism and equity. Ms. Theriaque's path to becoming the director is unique, and as a result, she brings a diverse set of skills to the program.  

As a firefighter at the Holyoke Fire Department, Ms. Theriaque rose to the rank of Lieutenant, serving as the first female Lieutenant in the history of the City of Holyoke. Following her work as a firefighter, Ms. Theriaque obtained a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work and is a qualified Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  She most recently worked as a Licensed Clinician at the Behavioral Health Network’s Program for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) program.  

Ms. Theriaque earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Mount Holyoke College and a Masters in Clinical Social Work from the Smith College School for Social Work.
